This doesn't feel like a Hermann Miller chair, and it doesn't cost like a Hermann Miller chair either. For the price, especially with the Amazon discount, it's a pretty good chair that I don't hesitate to recommend.
ASSEMBLY: I have assembled countless pieces of furniture, and basyx does so many things right compared to other companies:
--All the little pieces are separated in the packaging and clearly labeled. SO helpful!
--Many pieces do not need screws or other fasteners. The casters, for instance, simply push into the base. The gas lift tube simply pushes into the base. And the chair portion simply pushes onto the gas lift.
--The allen wrech provided is all you need. You don't need your own screwdriver or hammer.
--The seat base has Front, Back, Left, and Right stickers. No confusion about which way is what. The arm rests are likewise labeled Left and Right.
Unfortunately, despite these great features, the instructions I received had the armrests drawn the wrong way in a few diagrams. This caused much confusion about how to orient the seat plate. If your instructions have the same armrest mistakes, for the seat plate, look at the screw holes to orient yourself correctly.
THE CHAIR
As for the chair itself, like I said, for the price, it's a good chair. It's more comfortable than some more expensive chairs, including my current office chair. I certainly don't hesitate to recommend it. The back is nice and breathable, the cushion is soft without being too soft.
My one complaint is that it's very hard to adjust the back tilt. You have to loosen a knob on the bottom of the chair, which requires flipping the chair over unless you're flexible, and that knob is *hard* to turn. It also tilts the entire chair, not just the back.
